In this post, I'd like to share with you an email I recently received from Redbubble that has six pieces of advice on how to become a Redbubble featured artist.
I'll show you what that is and how it helps to get you more exposure and more sales on Redbubble.
I know there's a lot of talk on Redbubble about spam tagging, but that's not what they're talking about. They're talking about properly showing your work with:
- appropriate tags.
- the correct number of tags
So, if your design has a dog eating ramen, you'll want to include dog and ramen, and if it's a corgi dog, you'll want to include corgi things that people will enter into the redbubble search field to find your product.
Since if customers don't know how to discover your things, they won't be able to buy it, so make sure you tag your designs properly (not spam tagging) and don't use the same keyword over and over because that's not good practice.
I know it's a big topic on redbubble, but you want to make sure you're using the correct tags that people are searching for, which you can discover on the site; if you go through the search, you'll see some of the tags that Redbubble suggests as well. So, first and foremost, tag your work well.
FORMAT,FORMAT,FORMAT
They emphasize it three times because it is very important. If you see it three times, it signifies it is really important to ensure that:
- Your t-shirts are formatted correctly.
- Your stickers are formatted correctly.
Each product should have a design that fits properly on it; postcards, for example, are frequently used, You'll get that top and bottom white space if you merely use the default design on postcards.
Make sure you have the appropriate space for that by looking at each product as you place it on and it will neatly lay everything out.
There is a lot of video on how to lay out postcards and stickers using the correct sizes, especially for mugs.
You'll want to accomplish that, so if you're going to pick a product, make sure it lines up properly and keep an eye out for white letters.
Many individuals use white text but then place it on a white backdrop, making it impossible to see. This is especially true for stickers, which do not have a background of their own, so make sure you look at the stickers.
Make sure you can understand everything and that everything is in the appropriate place, so format, format, and format is the second most crucial recommendation.
If the format of your artwork is incorrect on items, redbubble will not show it; they want to make sure it's nice right there, so be sure to follow this guideline and format your designs accurately on each product.
ENABLE MORE PRODUCTS
Redbubble has so many various items, I believe they have up to 70 different items right now. I don't know if that's a lot, but I'm sure it's more than 60. Make sure that your design fits well on those products, but put them on as many things as you can stickers without backpacks.
They've lately introduced additional products, I believe for pets as well as scarves and other items, so make sure your design works on those items, rather than simply putting it on products that don't look good.
As a result, make sure you have good equilibrium. Put them on as many goods as you like, as long as they look decent, although they already have shower curtains and duvet coverings.
Sometimes you'll be startled to find a sale on a product you didn't expect to find a sale on; for example, I've gotten a sale on a duvet cover or a post or whatever that I didn't expect to find a sale on that isn't a t-shirt.
So put it on as many things as you can that look nice, enable all those products that are amazing, and you'll have a greater chance of being featured as an artist, at least according to Redbubble.
UPLOAD NEW WORK REGULARLY
As a result, this is excellent advice for any print-on-demand business, not only Redbubble. I've seen that when you add more and more things, you'll notice an increase in sales, at least that's how I view it.
Redbubble is continually looking for new designs, so when you upload more, your designs will appear in the fresh feed for them.
They'll have a greater chance of discovering your things if you keep posting fresh stuff. It's much better, in my opinion, to upload a couple of times a day or as many as you like every day rather than uploading a large amount of material in one day and then not uploading for a week.
So, if you have 60 designs, don't post them all in one day; instead, spread them out across the week so it appears like you're uploading consistently.
So it's a suggestion that I use personally to ensure that I have a steady stream of uploads; I believe it helps the algorithm, even though I have no idea what the algorithm is; I'm just guessing it does.
There are several benefits to uploading consistently, according to redbubble, and this is tip number four from redbubble, which is to publish fresh work on a frequent basis.
THINK ABOUT TRENDS
Tip number five is to consider trends; if you see any, they have trend lines on Redbubble, which I used to showcase; however, some of them are highly saturated.
However, if you have anything related to that, there's a strong possibility that Redbubble will notice it as well because they're always on the lookout for new ideas.
So, if you want to be featured, make sure your design is one that works really well for that trend. Don't just mimic what other people are doing; make sure your design stands out and is something that people want to buy, and can be associated with that trend.
So Redbubble is looking for that, and I'm sure other people are as well, so if they're going to feature a trend on their page, they'll be looking for something to display.
If yours stands out, it's only natural that they'd highlight it as a highlighted trend, because others are seeking it. Make sure to keep an eye out for trends; you don't have to follow them all the time.
Trends aren't everything, but they may help you gain attention and persuade Redbubble to look for your work, which I've done a few times. Redbubble also organizes contests and other events.
I've entered those in the past and you know if you win some of those contests or you design for them, a lot of times they put those
On their website or on their Instagram, look for those kinds of trends or call-outs on their website or on their website.
So, tip number five in this email is to think about trends.
So make sure you follow all six instructions (seven if you consider the extra tip) to achieve the best results.
