When you start a YouTube channel, the very first thing you should do is verify that YouTube channel.I know that sounds boring, but it will allow you to upload longer videos, custom thumbnails, and live streams, and you don't need a single view or subscriber to do it.But after that, what comes next? Let me show you.
live stream on YouTube
While you may live stream on YouTube with zero subscribers from a computer, you'll need 50 to do so from a mobile device. Additionally, YouTube may limit the number of people who can watch your live streams until you reach 1,000 subscribers.
Many of these YouTube feature unlocks are tied to the number of subscribers you have on your channel, as you'll see.
So, let me ask you a simple question: how many subscribers do you have? Please let us know in the comments section below.
Custom YouTube URL
You'll need 100 subscribers to acquire a personalized YouTube URL that looks like this rather than a confused mass of characters.
You'll also need to post a channel banner, a profile picture, and a channel description, and the channel must have been active for at least 30 days.
Community Posts
The Community tab, which functions as a status feed with postings, photographs, and polls, is a terrific opportunity to communicate with people outside of videos,At 500 YouTube followers, you'll be able to unlock this bad boy.
You'll be able to unlock this bad boy after you get 500 YouTube subscribers. You may publish community posts from a computer or a mobile phone, but it may take up to a week for this function to appear once you reach 500 subscribers.
And, while we're on the subject of 500 subscribers, you may start utilizing this as well,You can tag people in video titles, video descriptions, and community posts by starting with the @ sign and typing their channel name.
This instantly links to the mentioned channel, and you can see who has mentioned you in the YouTube Studio's comments section.
Monetization
for the major one, monetization, you'll need not only 1000 members, but also :
- 4,000 hours of watch time.
- 0 Community guideline strikes.
- Two-factor authentication is enabled.
There's also an application procedure, a review process, and finally, you have to turn everything on.
To be honest, this monetization thing seems like it might have its own article.
But, in addition to being monetized, being a part of the YouTube Partner Program comes with some additional benefits, one of which is live chat support via the YouTube Studio.
Now, it does start with an automated system, but if you ask for something else, you'll be connected to a live person who can speak with you in your native language.
You'll also get full access to the Copyright Matching tool, which will show you when producers utilize your movies and give you content ID matches.
Non-monetized features
Back to certain non-monetized features, which might be difficult to find because YouTube doesn't inform you when you receive them.
YouTube Research tab
When you look at viewers' queries, for example, the new YouTube Research page may say there are no results, or the Audience Data tab in Analytics may not appear because there isn't enough qualifying data.
To fix this, you simply need more people to watch more of your content on a regular basis.
But, just between you and me, you'll need about 50 overlapping viewers who are viewing both your content and other people's videos.
So YouTube may start to form relationships, and this will begin to happen after your channel has a few hundred subscribers and thousands of views on a regular basis.
YouTube Stories
Then there's YouTube Stories, which are like YouTube Shorts that expire after seven days.
YouTube Stories has been around far longer than YouTube Shorts, but according to the support website, it's still in beta and requires 10,000 subscribers.
So think about it, I'm not sure if YouTube Stories has a long-term future, but if you're a developer of Shorts, I advocate repurposing those Shorts as Stories.
Because, as Jake Fellman shows, you can attract a lot of subscribers by doing nothing.
Keep in mind that if your channel is intended for children, has a supervised account, or has other limitations, you may not have access to all features, including Stories and the Community page.
You're not seeking to access more YouTube features now that you've reached 10,000 subscribers.
Silver Play Button at 100,000 subscribers
You want to acquire creator achievements like the Silver Play Button, which requires 100,000 subscribers.
At 100,000 subscribers, you may also obtain a verification badge that may be displayed on the YouTube desktop experience.
Obtaining a verification badge used to be rather simple, however YouTube now checks your channel for legitimacy and completeness.
You'll get one of them if you reach a million subscribers, and it's blooming huge and blooming heavy.
We don't have 10 million followers yet, so we can't show you the diamond play button, and there's a report that YouTube is scrapping all of the other honors, including the special Ruby Play Button that was given to individuals like PewDiePie.
But, because I'm a wrestling fan, we can show you the personalized 500,000 subscriber trophy we developed.
Earn Super Chats
Returning to monetization, you may earn Super Chats during live streams in addition to ad money, like Emily D. Baker does.
Because the requirements are so similar, this should be unlocked at the same time as monetization.
It's the same with Super Thanks, which is a non-livestream version of sending money to creators. If you have access to it, it's a no-brainer to turn it on.
And then we have channel memberships that viewers can sign up to for a monthly fee and get exclusive perks such as channel badges and exclusive content.
The needed subscriber account is the same as all of the others, but there are extra requirements on top.
the merch shelf
There's also the merch shelf, where you can sell swag directly to your viewers through your videos.
The requirements here are a little more challenging.
If you're not an official artist channel, you will need 10,000 subscribers, and meet all of these requirements,On top of this, only viewers in these countries will be able to buy your merchandise.
YouTube Giving
And then we have YouTube Giving, where you can set up or join existing fundraising events and attach them to videos and live streams on your channel.
Some pretty strict requirements on this one, You'll need 10,000 subscribers, and your channel must be located in one of just three countries:
- The United States
- United Kingdom
- Canada
Yeah, YouTube monetization can be a bit of a headache, but I know a lot of you are working towards unlocking that goal.
