Normally, I have nothing but positive things to say about print on demand. It's fantastic. I enjoy talking about it, but in this case, I'm going to do the exact opposite.
I'm going to speak about ten aspects about print on demand that I hate. Let's get started!!
I'm going to talk about the 10 things I despise about print on demand in this post,I realize hate is a strong term, and it's more like I loathe it, but hate sounds a lot better. It's a nod to Julia Stiles, Heath Ledger, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt in the film 10 Things I Hate About You. A good film from 1999.
No Control On Getting Shut Down
So the first thing I dislike about print on demand is that you have no control over whether or not you get thrown from the site, very little control.
I see it all the time on my facebook group that I got thrown off of redbubble for no reason or that I don't know why I'm not on merch by amazon anymore.
Personally, it hasn't happened to me, but there was a time when Amazon simply stopped down completely at the start of Corona, so one of the scariest things about print on demand is that your business, if that is your business model, might shut down at any time and you have no control over it.
So if you're relying on redbubble for a lot of money, it may suddenly cease, or if you're relying on amazon for stuff , and they say we're not selling anything this month, it could completely stop.
So that's what's really worrisome about print on demand. You need have a backup plan, which is why I began youtube and other stuff like affiliate sales and whatnot,So You shouldn't rely just on your print on demand money.
The first thing I dislike about print on demand is that it can shut down or terminate your account at any moment.
No Way To Contact Costumers
So the second thing I truly hate about print on demand is that there's no real good way to contact customers. I'm referring to print-on-demand shops like redbubble, merch by Amazon, and t public, where they do everything for you, which is great, but the downside is that they handle customer service and all of this means you don't have a way to contact your customers.
So you won't be able to sell to them, and you won't be able to send them newsletters or anything like that.
You do have that, if you do your own shopify( print on demand) ,etsy, print on demand using a third-party print-on-demand site.
So this number two is exclusively for all-in-one print-on-demand businesses like merch by Amazon, public redbubble, and things like that with shopify and woocommerce or things where you're selling print-on-demand items.
This one isn't really relevant, but one advantage of implementing it that way is that you can do email marketing.
If you have a new product, you can let people know about it. One method to get around this is to establish a large social media following.
So, if you can grow your social media fan network, you can send items that way and let your consumers and followers know about it, but this is extremely difficult.
must get marketing out to existing consumers and attempt to let them know about it, because you have no information who bought it, where they bought it, or anything like that.
So the second thing I despise about print on demand is that you have no method of communicating with your consumers.
Sometimes You Don't Show Up in Searches
So the third thing I dislike about print on demand is that you don't always appear in searches, regardless of how excellent your SEO is or how well you write titles and tags, if you're attempting to sell anything and want organic traffic, this might be an issue.
Sometimes you just don't show up on merch by amazon when people do searches, and you're well back on page 5 or page 10, and you don't show up on redbubble or anywhere else either.
If you don't show up in searches, it can be very difficult for you to make a sale, and you may not have much influence over this.
You may put everything in the right place and it still won't show up, so that's one of the challenges with print on demand , you're dealing with a larger company.
Now that you've learned about the 10 things I despise about print on demand, how about these top print on demand websites that I use or what to do before you start using print on demand?
Keep producing and learning, as usual, and I'll see you on the next one.
So many people are doing the same things, and it's easy to be lost. It's difficult to make a sale if you can't be located, and that's one of the key reasons.
You know, stuff like that that assist you get a sale, so this is the third problem about print on demand that I despise, and that is findability. Sometimes you just don't show up in searches.
